Founded by Dr. Daniel Buss (surgeon and team physician for the Minnesota Twins), who specializes in shoulder and elbow disorders.  This organization is independent and physician owned.  The physicians of “Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists” work with and serve as team physicians for professional, college and high school athletes.

Curriculum Overview:

With general orthopaedic surgeons, who have specialized training in shoulder and elbow and foot and ankle, the fellows examine acute and chronic injuries and develop a plan for diagnostic testing, treatment and rehabilitation.

Primary Faculty:

Daniel Buss, MD:  Orthopaedic surgeon, who completed a fellowship in shoulder and sports medicine.  Founder of “Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists.”  Team physician for the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball Team since 1990.

Michael Freehill, MD:  Orthopaedic surgeon, who completed a fellowship in shoulder and sports medicine.  Dr. Freehill has expertise in trauma and joint reconstruction.

Lisa Wasserman, MD: Sports medicine fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon, who specializes in disorders of the foot and ankle.  She completed a second fellowship in limb deformity.
